Uninstallation
Most of people simply uninstall the software
using Add/Remove programs console which is quickest and simplest way to remove
the programs. But sometime the few installation are not completely removed by
this process and key remains in the operating system which is basically stored
in the windows registry. If software are not uninstalled successfully then we
have to perform manual task to uninstall it. MicroStrategy is one the software
that might come under such a situation and the manual steps are
necessary. Here are the basic
steps through which we can uninstall it.

Manually
Uninstalling
MicroStrategy on 32-bit Windows environments:
1.
Stop all MSTR related services (also kill javaw.exe from Task Manager)
2.Uninstall any MicroStrategy hotfixes
that are applied on the machine via the Add/Remove Programs menu found in the
Windows Control Panel.
3. Uninstall the full MicroStrategy
9.x product suite via the Add/Remove Programs menu.
4. Backup any customizations deployed
on the machine before proceeding with the next step. If they are not backed up
they will be deleted.
5. Delete the remaining MicroStrategy
directories. By default the locations are:
C:\Program Files\Data Direct
C:\Program Files\Common
Files\MicroStrategy
C:\Program Files\MicroStrategy
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program
Files\Common Files\MicroStrategy (Vista/2008/7 only)
6. Back up the registry. Since
registry changes may cause some other issues.
7. Delete the following MicroStrategy
related registry keys via the Windows Registry Editor (regedit):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DataDirect
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy
8. Delete the following MicroStrategy
related services via the Windows Registry Editor:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MicroStrategy
Distribution Manager
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MicroStrategy
Execution Engine
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MicroStrategy
Intelligence Server
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MicroStrategy
Logging Client
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MicroStrategy
Logging Consumer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MicroStrategy
Logging Server

9. Restart the machine.
