You do not have Read access to the Table Source object" error occurs when non-administrator architect users attempt to edit Warehouse Catalog Options in MicroStrategy Developer
Today I came to a situation where user are able to modify the table prefix with Admin access , however with architect privileges , where you have full access to schema and bypass access to all schema object , but When architect users who do not have administrative privileges attempt to go to Warehouse Catalog Options in MicroStrategy Developer the following error occurs:
CAUSE:
The user does not have Access Control List (ACL) access on the prefix object mentioned in the error message. The exact reason why this happens is unknown at this point.
Solution
This error is because folder "Table Source" do not have use access. To fix this issue, please follow below steps.
1) Right click on project and search for managed objects
2) Do not check "Display managed objects only"
3) search for objects now and you will find Table source folder (it might be in hidden). In case you are having view hidden option then please go to developer > Preference > Browsing > Check hidden object. as shown in below snapshot.
4) right click and provide relevant access for everyone group (recursively)
Happy learning !!!!.
